Dolphy Docs
Getting started

Install the web widget

The widget is added to your site with a small loader tag. Open Setup in the panel, copy the site-specific public key and current snippet, then place it before the closing body tag.

<script src="https://dolphydesk.com/widget/v1.js" data-site-key="KEY_FROM_THE_PANEL"></script>

The public key is visible in the browser and is not a password. Access is bounded by the server validating the key together with the request origin, so adding the key alone is not the full setup.

Allowed origins

Add your production origin in the panel. Scheme, hostname and port are evaluated together. https://example.com and https://www.example.com are different origins; add both if both serve the widget. For development, list an explicit address such as http://localhost:3000 instead of opening a wildcard to the internet.

Verify the installation

Open the page in a private window and check that:

  1. The widget launcher appears without blocking the page.
  2. A first message creates a conversation in the inbox.
  3. A known question is answered and an unknown one is not invented.
  4. The composer remains usable when the mobile keyboard opens.

If the widget does not appear, check the browser console for origin or key errors first. Then confirm the loader runs, the site's content security policy permits it, and the exact origin—including its protocol—has been registered.
