Everything the visitor sees

The appearance screen sets everything the widget shows a visitor. Every change on the left reflects immediately in the real widget preview on the right; there is no separate design language to learn.

The bot must be published to edit its appearance.

What you can set

• Cover image — the wide image in the widget header
• Assistant portrait — the round photo in the identity row
• Brand colour — buttons, borders and highlights
• Position — bottom left or bottom right
• Greeting — the first line read when the chat opens
• Launcher label — the short text on the button while closed
• Opening questions — up to five ready-made questions
• Notification sound — the short sound played when a reply starts, which can be muted

Uploading an image is optional: without a cover image the assistant portrait is shown, and without that a monogram generated from the brand colour. An empty assistant portrait falls back to the portrait of the persona you picked.

What is fixed

The following are product decisions, not your settings:

• The “AI assistant” label appears under every bot message and cannot be switched off. This is required by Article 50 of the EU AI Act.
• A card appears only to route the visitor to a page, and it carries no image. A “talk to the team” chip is not appended to answers.
• Information cards and quote forms do not exist in the widget. A request is collected in text, during the conversation. The “Was this helpful?” question with thumbs up/down at the end of a conversation is fixed.
• On screens 640 pixels wide and below the widget opens full screen.

Before you publish

The preview on the appearance screen is the same widget. Still, apply the release criterion from the playground and take one more look after the first real visitors.
